My Services
Test prep, advanced math, college applications, and math foundations.
Test Prep
I tutor the SAT, ACT, and Upper Level SSAT. We start with an official diagnostic so I can see exactly where points are being lost and discover the skills worth prioritizing. From there, I build prep around my individual student: targeted practice, timing and pacing, strategy, homework between sessions, and periodic full-length tests. I care much more about understanding why a student missed a question than simply assigning more practice.
We will work on:
-
content gaps and recurring mistake patterns
-
pacing, timing, and section strategy
-
efficient use of tools like Desmos on the SAT
-
vocabulary, reading, and verbal reasoning
-
full practice tests and detailed review
Calculus & Advanced Math
AP Calculus is one of my favorite subjects to tutor. I’ve spent years teaching it and have seen the same difficult ideas and mistake patterns from many angles. Sometimes the difference between confusion and understanding is a particular diagram or a small observation that makes an entire class of question easier. I have a deep library of explanations and techniques to draw on during sessions, built from working with students over many hours.
I work especially often with:
-
AP Calculus AB and BC
-
advanced precalculus
-
AP Statistics
-
IB Mathematics
-
other challenging high-school math courses
College Applications
I help students bring structure to a process that can feel overwhelming. That includes building and refining a college list, planning deadlines, deciding what story belongs in the personal statement, brainstorming supplementals, and working through rounds of essay revision. My job is not to write an application for my student. It’s to ask the right questions to help them find their strongest material, and give direct feedback until their final application reflects their best.
I help navigate:
-
college lists and application planning
-
Common App personal statements
-
supplemental essays
-
brainstorming and story selection
-
revision, structure, and final polish
Math Foundations
I also work with students who need stronger foundations or more challenge than they are getting in math class. Some of my students are preparing for Algebra I or accelerated placement. Others perform well in school but have hidden gaps in arithmetic, fractions, negative numbers, algebra, or problem solving that start causing trouble later on. Here I focus on understanding that lasts rather than simply finishing tonight’s homework.
For students who want to:
-
strengthen core skills before Algebra I
-
prepare for accelerated or honors placement
-
close gaps that are holding back more advanced work
-
get more challenge and deeper mathematical understanding
